The official audit has been the completed, the final results are tallied and the winners of the inaugural PCC Bracket Contest are:

    1st Place: Kaitlin Schwenk

    2nd Place: Brian Horn

    3rd Place: Morris Yankell

Kaitlin, the wife of regular PCC event attendee, Eric Schwenk, appears to be the only female to enter the contest.  The moral of the story fellas?  Marry a woman who knows her hoops so you can win some cigars!

The contest was very close, with Kaitlin and Brian coming from behind by having UConn as their National Champion.  Morris was clipped in the end, but you have to respect him picking Butler as his title winner...they'll probably get another shot next year!

Thanks to everyone for entering and congratulations to the winners!

PCC's hybrid cigar and soccer event at McFadden's generated some great media buzz in the Philadelphia area.  All-things-guys'-lifestyle newsletter and website, Thrillist, featured our event as part of their weekly "The List" column.  Take a look at the write up HERE.  If you like good restaurants, cool clothes and interesting events, sign up for Thrillist Philadelphia right away.

CBS3 reporter, Nicole Brewer, selected PCC as one of the featured weekend events around the city.  In her "What's Brewing" segment on-air and her online blog, Nicole, highlighted our unique game-watching party.  Check out the clip at cbs3.com/brewer.

Philadelphia Magazine's "Weekender" also included PCC as a featured event for the opening weekend of the World Cup.  Take a look at the writeup on their website HERE.

U-S-A!!!  U-S-A!!!  Okay, so they played to a draw, but you can't help us for being excited.  The underdog Yanks turned in an adequate performance and all attendees at the World Cup Cigar Party enjoyed the game in style.

Even if the USA and England did not bring their "A" games, the guys from CAO and Holt's stepped it up for our attendees.  Everyone went home with some great CAO "merch" and many took advantage of the great cigar deals from Holt's.  Thanks to both partners for all their support!

We also want to give another thank you to all those who attended.  The crowd was mostly new faces, whom we hope to see again at future events.  We appreciate you supporting PCC and cheering on the USA!

A healthy mix of Philly Cigar Club regulars and newcomers were treated to an impromptu visit from Rocky Patel at the April 14 happy Hour.  All guests had enjoyed one of Rocky's finest selections, the Decade Torpedo, during the evening.

Rocky addressed the group and encouraged everyone to educate themselves about pending cigar taxes and smoking ban legislation.  He stressed that the "art" of cigar making was in jeopardy if exorbitantly high taxes were allowed to pass.

Both Rocky and Philly Cigar Club suggest that cigar smokers do their part by joining Cigar Rights of America. The organization is dedicated to educating politicians about the craftsmanship required to make cigars and to separate them from cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and other mass-produced products.

Thanks to Rocky and all who attended for making this a great evening!

As good as 2009 was, 2010 is certain to be even better.  We have big plans for future events and we expect the buzz that has been generated to continue.  For those people who did not make it out for an event this year, make it one of your resolutions to join us in the new year.

We wish everyone very happy and safe holidays and thank you again for your support.  If you are trying to find any last minute gifts for cigar-loving friends, we'll leave you with a list of our favorite cigars from 2009:
